A disappointment - But has some useful info January 5, 2009 Susanna Hutcheson (Midwest U.S.A.) First, a disclaimer. I have some 40 years of experience in copywriting and the author has far less. So my expectations were perhaps too high. I also noticed on his site that he charges what I would expect a junior copywriter to charge. So, I can't put a lot of credibility into what he may have to say. My fees are five or six times higher than his. Having said that, he did a fine job of writing. The material was presented well and should be useful to some non-copywriters or beginning copywriters. He is not a fan of direct response copywriting online. I do not agree with this. While long copy is not always good, it has it's place. I was not impressed with his ideas. I'd like to see proof that his ideas are superior before I could buy into them. - Susanna K. Hutcheson
Content Rich December 11, 2008 Dr. Tami Brady (Calgary, Canada) Technology might change but the basic foundations of marketing stay the same. Simply put, you might have the greatest product in the world but if no one knows about it you aren't going to make any sales. So the key to any successful business is bringing in potential customers and making them clients. Here's where Content Rich comes in. This book looks at ways to bring people to your website then encourage them to buy your product. To bring clients to your site, the author looks primarily at search engine optimization, making sure that your site rates well within google, yahoo, and other like search engines. The biggest concerns here are making sure that your metatag keywords and your actual site content work together for the best possible results. Once you've got potential customers coming to your site, you can focus on making these people actual clients. Making sure your site is intuitive and easy to scan for the appropriate information is key. Adding a little buzz and regularly adding content will also help.
One part of SEO explained. December 11, 2008 Jay Ehret (Waco, Texas) Jon Wuebben does a good job in helping you create a website content plan that will have a positive effect on your search engine rankings. I agree that there might have been more detailed writing tutorials and examples. But after reading this book you will have a better understanding of how content affects your search engine rankings and what to do about it. I found Chapters 3-5 particularly helpful in developing a content strategy that I now recommend to clients. For more "how-to" writing advice, I recomment you turn to Bob Bly or Joe Sugarman.
I want more real life examples November 23, 2008 Paul R. Young (wash dc) This book is fairly decent on practical real world examples. It is. however, a large commercial for the writers' copy writing services in spots.
Content Rich November 23, 2008 W. C. Head (Atlanta, Georgia) Content Rich: Writing Your Way to Wealth on the Web I highly commend this book to your SEO enrichment. Jon does a fabulous job explaining how content brings customers, and how testing your marketing message to adjust to click-thru is critical. While the book may be a little bit over the heads of novice Internet marketers, it tells it like it is. Consider this book to be one building block in constructing a large commercial building that obliterates the competition. [...]
